When he decided on a second orangery to let in the sun and maximise space for all the family, internet entrepreneur Paul Steffans was looking to recreate in Surrey the lifestyle he enjoyed in Australia. And at the heart of his plans was to be a second orangery to house a family relaxation space and a games room. "The orangery gives us all the space we need as a family," says Paul. "We chose The English Glasshouse because we really like the work they do and there’s real quality to everything they do."
Modern meets traditional
Tom and Joanna Dudderidge dreamed of a spacious kitchen area in which to share their passion for cooking and entertaining. Now, they do both in a stunning orangery from The English Glasshouse that, they say, they simply "love to come home to". Three false ceilings in an adjacent room were removed, providing the opportunity to bring the original flagstone and arch into the orangery design. The result, say Tom and Joanna, is simply "a lovely place".
A room with a view
Tony and Lesley Heywood’s new orangery from The English Glasshouse is the perfect place to enjoy movies, the stars and time with family and friends. The couple – who have four children and three grandchildren – wanted a space in which they could relax in comfort and entertain in style. "The orangery has been brilliant," says Lesley, "because it’s really changed the kitchen and has brightened up that entire side of the house."
A kitchen orangery
